I was out of town for a few days so I'm just catching up reading entries. If you have not had a chance to check out Patrick's Place's entry on Role Reversal please do!
It makes me think of all the other protests in the past:
One could not marry outside their religious faith
One could not marry outside their culture/ethnic background
One could not marry outside their social economic status
One could not marry if their ages were not appropriate
One could not marry if there was alcoholism or some other disorder in the family
One could not marry their education background/career was not appropriate
One could not marry if your father or oldest brother didn't approve
One could not marry if your older sister was not married
One could not marry if you were not a virgin
Probably many more! These could be still true depending upon whom & where we are talking about, but they are not as mainstream today. Perhaps one day sexual orientation will also be listed as past problem...though I hope there is not a new one waiting to be added to the list then.

Hi..I have talked to opponents of this issue and they state that marraige was crafted in teh Bible as a vehicle for aman and a woman to unite and create achild. Did you study its' history? Because we need to do that perhaps in order to revise an ancient custom. Perhaps at that point we can at least knwo the true intent whihc seems to be based around children ,love,nat
A civil marriage is not to be religous! Sure if you go to a particular religion they may not want to & that is fine. Interesting Men's clubs have to have women etc but then with this there is an exception. Church & state are suppose to be separate in our country.
