Here's To the Crazy Ones!

I was working on ads/commercials for my students Persuasion chapter & searching through all the "Think Different" Ads by Mac I came across this one & I LOVE IT! I'm going to buy it & put it up in my office! :-) Where is that person who says I think too much? I just love this & can't wait to share with my students! This is my problem I get so inspired then I get so absorbed working on it & time just goes right by & I'm tired & I have to go to bed and it will be horrible to go to sleep without finishing my train of thought & stop the energy. Ugh! Maybe it will go into my dreams? This morning I had this dream of all these pretty colored flowers where in hanging pots, hanging from the bottom of the deck from upstairs. Not just the edges but the whole bottom...all above my head all these spring colors. I think I can't wait to garden! :-)

It is going Boom Boom here now! I love thunder...well except the ones that rattle everything & feels like it hit the ground near me. That is when I wish I had a nice broad strong chest to sink myself into! HA!

Goodnight!

World's Shortest Fairy Tale

World's Shortest Fairy Tale

Once upon a time, a girl asked a guy, "Will you marry me?" The guy said "No" And the girl lived happily ever after and went shopping, drank martinis with friends, always had a clean house, never had to cook, had a closet full of shoes and handbags, stayed skinny and was never farted on.

The End.

I got this in my email & it was too funny not to share with all of you. Reminds me a bit of the book "The Paper Bag Princess" which I read to my students, along with The Sneetches for our Stereotypes, Prejudice & Discrimination chapter. HA!
As I write this though "Who Loves You" by Franki Valli & The Four Seasons is playing on my cable. Ugh....I love that song! See this is why we put up with guys! HA!

Oh God now as I'm searching for the link all these others..."
If You Leave Me Now" (Chicago), "Everything I Own" (Bread), "Time in A Bottle" (Jim Croce), "I'd Like To Make It With You" (Bread), "We've Only Just Begun" (Carpenters), "If" (Bread). "You Are So Beautiful" (Joe Cocker), "Just The Way You Are" (Billy Joel)....oh man we had great songs growing up! I now know what it is like...when we complained about our folks just liking the songs they grew up with...HA! That's it...I'm a goner now...I'll be sobbing here in a minute! Total Mush!

Who loves you pretty baby,
Who's gonna help you through the night?

Who loves you pretty mama,
Who's always there to make it right?

Who loves you pretty baby,
Who's gonna help you through the night?

Who loves you pretty mama,
Who's always there to make it right?

Who loves you,
Who loves you pretty baby?
Who's gonna love you mama?

Who loves you,
Who loves you pretty baby?

When tears are in your eyes,
And you can't find the way.

It's hard to make believe,
You're happy when you're gray.

Baby when you're feelin' like,
You'll never see the mornin' light.

Come to me,
Baby, you'll see.

Who loves you pretty baby,
Who's gonna help you through the night?

Who loves you pretty mama,
Who's always there to make it?

Who loves you,
Who loves you pretty baby?
Who's gonna love you mama?

Who loves you,
Who loves you pretty baby?

And when you think,
The whole wide world has passed you by.

You keep on tryin',
But you really don't know why.

Baby when you need a smile,
To help the shadows drift away.

Come to me,
Baby, you'll see.

Who loves you pretty baby,
Who's gonna help you through the night?

Who loves you pretty mama,
Who's always there to make it?

Who loves you,
Who's gonna love you, love you?
Who's gonna love you?

Who loves you,
Who's gonna love you, love you?
Who's gonna love you?

Baby,
Baby,
Doot-doo-doot.

Come to me,
Baby, you'll see.

Who loves you pretty baby,
Who's gonna help you through the night?

Who loves you pretty mama,
Who's always there to make it?

Who loves you,
Who's gonna love you, love you?
Who's gonna love you?

Who loves you,
Who's gonna love you, love you?
Who's gonna love you

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Hi...didn't get this out earlier but still wanted to. Did you all have fun for St. Patrick's Day. I went up north by my folks & went to a parade with my cousin & her 2 yr old daughter. We had fun! Loved the bagpipes & watching all the kids run for the necklaces & candy they were through out to the crowd.

Ok, so I'm not Irish...well? Maybe a bit on my maternal grandfather? But I'll take a kiss anyway! HA! I want to make a shirt that says that! HA! After the parade we went to this Grill & I had Cornbeef & Cabbage & red potatoes! My mom would usually make it for my b-day (shhh it is tomorrow...well today now!) but she's in Phoenix for the winter so...My cousins bought my lunch for my b-day & then when we got back to her house she had a slice of Portillo's chocolate cake with two candles & they sang and she videotaped! She is soooo sweet. Her mom & dad left me a card with a check which totally shocked me! I had gotten another card Friday from my Godfather & my great aunt & today in the mail from another aunt & uncle.

Afterwards I took Sam & Ella to the vet for their shots. As I was getting to the door I could see people pointing. Then I crack open the door & the girls at the desk yelled "Sam & Ella is here" and people were coming out of the rooms to see them. OMG! It was so wierd. Well, then I went to a reptile store to get the food recommended and they said my turtles are females. I'm getting so confused. The poor turtles. They were sure, saying the males have long nails to grab around the females belly to...umm...well you know & then their tail is long to wrap around for the same reason. HA! I'm so confused. I get use to calling them "he" and then they say they are "she" then I get use to that & they tell me "he" and now back again. Ugh!

Well, I went to one our big nurseries and looked the animals. They had a munchkin cat. I had never seen a live one...just pictures. So odd! Have you seen pictures of them? They have very tiny legs...as you might guess from the name. Now I'm not sure what the purpose was to breed this...were cats too tall for some reason? Then I went & looked at some plastic plants for Sam & Ella's tank & the artifical flowers to put some spring into my home's spirit. They had some really cool river bend rocks that were brown & some burgundy...more powdery than smooth & shiny. I got some for my bettas. I'm still waiting on the slate rock to build Sam & Ella a step up to a ledge they can basket & the water falls down.

My tummy was bothering me a bit tonight...had Pizza Huts thin & cripy with mushrooms, onions & peppers...hmmm think that could of done it...oh & this afternoon my annual Shamrock Shake! HA! I did have cake earlier too...starting to sound like a kid that at too much at the circus or carnival! HA! It is settling down now though.

I had a bit of the Irish luck I think. I got a check in the mail from Pepsi for $20...for that website thing where you type in your cap numbers. Isn't that great! I'm going to use it at the flowershow tomorrow.

Now isn't that a great place for a little green shamrock tatoo! HA! I love playing with temporary tatoos! I have to find some shamrock ones!

This bear reminds me of the shamrock Beanie Bear I got my cousin's little girl for today. She loved it. She had a doggie with shamrocks & her grandma & grandpa got her a bear that sings "When Irish Eyes are Singing"...her daddy sings this to her when she goes to bed & she is beginning to sing it! HA!

I'm hoping this works. I loved it! HA!

Well tonight I looked on cable & one of my favorite movies which is usually on for St. Patrick's was nowhere to be found so I popped into my dvd player my own copy..."The Quiet Man" with John Wayne & Maureen O'Hara. You know I think I should have been a red-head! They says blondes? Give me a break, Ann-Margaret, Sophia Loren, Maureen O'Hara...see! If you have never seen it here are some clips you can watch. One of my favorite lines is..."There'll be no locks and bolts between us Mary Kate--except for those in your mercenary little heart." They don't have a clip of this though...ugh. And in the graveyard scene they cut it off before it gets raining on John Wayne & his shirt becomes translucent and he doesn't have an undershirt on!

The Guys are Home!

Well the vet called this morning & it seems that Sam & Ella have a vitamin A deficiency & this is causing the respiratory infection. I asked how this could be since they have been fine for 5 yrs. She wasn't totally sure. She told me that the superworms are not enough? Hmmm? Fine all this time. Gave me a list of foods to feed them:

Purina Trout Chow
Tetra Reptomin Foating food
Romaine lettuce
Squash
Dandelions
Algae & Pond weeds

Ok, some of these I'm not too sure where I'm going to get them. I'm calling the reptile store tomorrow. Ugh...don't you love pet stores that just don't tell you everything you need to know. I'm just so upset & worried also that I caught it in time.

The vet gave them a shot of antibiotics & Vitamine A/D. Sat & Tues I go back with them for antibiotic shots & the following Fri for antibiotics & another Vitamin A/D. When I got there Ella looked much better & was more alert as the vet mentioned etc. Later in the evening I think she looked worse & seemed to be lethargic & gasping for air? I'm calling them tomorrow because the vet really didn't tell me any sense of how bad they are. They were nice & didn't charge me for 2 exams.

Sam is overweight the vet said & Ella is ok weight. Sam is no surprise "he"...oh YES...by the way I was right originally when I got them! They are boys! Somehow a few years ago someone was talking to me about them & I thought I had been wrong they were female but she confirmed they are males...now that I was getting use to saying "she". You know...2 male cats, male turtles...I probably have male fish & hermit crabs. Tons of males in this place! HA! Well, Sam is very aggressive and dominant & would bite your finger off if he could! This is why Sam is about 4 times as big as Ella now! Oh BTW they all loved their names at the Animal Hospital. I just shake my head thinking it isn't that creative & kinda goofy but they are like "No, that is so great!" Ha! I'm also getting the label of "the turtle lady" Ha! Actually, I don't mind since I love turtles. So, less food for Sam & then to feed Ella & make sure he gets to eat I have to take him out & put him in the pet carrier I got & feed him there.

This would be Sam! HA! He is probably a Frat Boy! HA! Rugby Guy! HA!

I saw this quote & loved it. Wanted to get credit to the person too. I always find personal meaning to my spirit in things so I'm not surrprised I like turtles with this idea of them. I totally agree. Funny though, at times you may retreat into your shell...hmmm and then other times it is stuck way out. Now the slowness of turtles I think is a reminder for me to slow down! HA!

Well, I was asleep but woke up & now I'm getting a bit tired again. I'll let you know how they are doing. Hopefully by next week they we'll be back to their old selves.

Sam & Ella are Sick!

I'm so sad...Sam & Ella are sick. I took them to an animal hospital today. I had called earlier & they said if I brought them & the reptile doc wasn't there it would be ok, that they would just call the other location. Well, there wasn't one there or at the other location. I was so upset. I told them I had called & what they told me & they offered to keep them free of charge & transport them to the other location tonight or tomorrow morning. They are going to call me in the morning.

From what I'm reading up on their symptoms seems to be an Upper Respiratory Infection. Ella is much worse because she is so much smaller than Sam. And you won't believe this...Ella was actually moaning. Freaked me out the first time I heard it. I thought the tv was on or something. Then it was soooo heart wrenching. I didn't think they could do that. So weird but cool, just not for the right reasons. Sam seems to recognize his name...I know you are all going to say I'm crazy with that but you just have to see it. I probably conditioned him to behave to the name but I don't care. Ha! Well I'll let you know tomorrow..

My dad bought my sister & I our first stereo when I was 13 yrs old...which had an 8 track
tape player and proceeded to get replaced by the tape cassette the next week! HA!
I had 2 8 tracks & one was SNL with this Bee Skit & then the Freudian Therapy
Session about the Dream with going in & out of the tunnel! HA! Maybe that
should have told me something about going into Psych then! HA!

Enjoy watching some of John...what brilliance!
