Kicking with the Rockettes!

I'm so excited! I'm just about to leave, run some errands & then head to my folks. We are going to see the Rockettes tonight! My little 8 yr old niece is sooooo excited. I got her an aisle seat because the commercials show them coming through the aisles. I hope she gets to see them up close! She love singing, dancing, costumes & the stage. She does shows for the family! HA! Has a microphone with stand etc. She is just too much! A ham just like her father. Her dad played Danny in Grease his senior year in HS & 800 people showed up the first night & they started so late. He got an acting scholarship to my alma mater for this role. She's probably going to be just like him.

I have to admit I'm excited to see the Rockettes also...must be the bit of cheerleader still down in me. Then again look what reindeer I am! HA!
See what Reindeer you are!

If you can't read...

But the only thing Scarlet about me is my nose (deer)
Frankly my deer I don't give a Damn! (Rhett!)

I know pretty bad but moans are still great! HA!

Well I'll let you know how the Rockettes are & try to take some pictures!

Laugh Away Some Holiday Stress!

Are you getting stress out yet? I wasn't doing too bad until I ran out of cat food and headed to WalMart. I looked at the parking lot & my head went down & I shock my head & said "Why Me?!" HA! Now is not the time to run out of something! Mental note for next Christmas, stock up on all stables before Dec 1st! :-)

Ok, so I go into WalMart & I said, it is a choice...either I can make it miserable or I can just enjoy and have fun. So I go for the cat food smiling at people and taking in all their joyous faces...well the ones that were joyous! Then I looked at the "fishies". You know they say watching fish lowers your blood pressure. I think I would need to live in the ocean to lower mine enough points! HA!  Good thing I'm a pisces! :-)

Then I said, ok, you are here & the lines are long anyway so I did the rounds in the Christmas aisles and had some fun pushing the buttons on the talking plush for the kids to listen! Thanks Dad (read past post!). Talked to someone with a Batman that was as tall as my hip & again looked like he was on Steroids, but not as bad as Superman (read past post!). She agreed Batman is just not the same! :-)

Then I saw 3 little boys walking with this big box. The biggest boy could barely hold on to it. They were apparently getting one of those massage pads for a chair for someone they loved. I thought that was just the sweetest thing. They had these HUGE smiles on their faces like this was something planned and they were so proud of. Don't you just love kids! Hey...was this suppose to be a frustrating time..hmmm! ;-)

Then guess what...I find a short line! That alone is something to say:

(That phrase has been growing on me over the years!) I get home & I have more Christmas cards in my mailbox! Another Whoo Hoo! Make that a double because yesterday I got no mail...again! Now I'm not a person to not get mail. I get more junk mail than regular mail! HA! Yep, today an envelope has "blocked" and yesterday's date on it. Don't you love those neighbors who park in front of mailboxes! UGH! I don't get many cards usually, even though I send out a truck load with a letter, so it only takes one to excite me! Seems some of my relatives still like to do the "Family" card to my folks. HELLO! I'm 40 yrs old, when do I get my own? If someone says I have to be married, I'm going to turn them into Santa!

A card from my one cousin who always has a humorous letter! And I LOVE the picture cards! One of her son's is in 7th grade & tested at the Soph college reading level! Dang...sign him up for my classes! The boys are a hoot! Each with their own unique personalities. I just love watching that. School, tooth fairies & sports are the themes. I headed out to one of their ball games this summer. Actually, I watched two at once. Had to stand between both ball fields & keep looking back & forth like a tennis match! HA! But it was so much fun. My cousin is dear to my heart for many reason but one in particular is because she also has a ZOO like me! HA! I love hearing about all their furry family members! She is worse than me...birds, rabbits, guinea pigs, lizards, hamsters etc. I also love looking at kids signatures at various ages! They are soooo cute! As I hung the cards up I thought 'man I'd love to personally thank the person who came up with double stick tape!' Ha!

Well, I also wanted to share with you two journals I read today that gave me HUGE, CRYING LAUGHS which were very much needed! First, Pat's journal Here, There & Everywhere! Her story about Pookey & DeForest Kelley (remember from Star Trek) is hysterical! Look at her archives (recent) she knows quite a few hollywood stars! Second, look at Dave's Dead Investigations. He is actually guest editor this week! I was in tears laughing at his entries Your Fat or Your Life and Have Gun Will Travel and just added Confessions of a Geek Wannabee. Officers are a hoot! They have to be to stay sane! Trust me, you want to get rid of some holiday stress, reading these journals just melts it all away! So...no more stress and off I go happily to get a few things done.

Baby It's Really Cold Outside!

You think it is cold by you! Wow! I got this in my email today as a powerpoint & BRRRRRR! I added these pictures so you can enlarge them!

It is Versoix, a town near Geneva City, Switzerland. YIPES! Not a place I want to run & get plane tickets for! HA! And Santa well I wonder what kind of brakes those reindeer have! HA! Can you imagine the fun that would be?! :-) Talk about doing donuts!

They are going to need a lot of Hot Chocolate!!!

Precious Christmas Present!

Take a look at Mrs. L.'s lovely photo (click)! Isn't that the most precious & lovely picture! Lovely Christmas present!

This is when men can be soooo wonderful...no I don't mean sleeping! HA! Just when they let the macho stuff go to the side! Ok, so the macho stuff is fun too at times! Ha! Well, then look at that hand in the pocket! HA! Ya, that money is going to be flying out fast now with a new baby! HA! Such a heart warming photo just had to share it with all of you.

For the Kid in All of Us!

Oh man, this is awesome! Tell me you wouldn't want a Marshmellow Shooter (click)! It shoots 20 mini marshmellows up to 30 feet away! I say one for each partner. Can you imagine the fun?! I'm telling you, if people just used these when they are upset, they would start playing & you know...make ups can be very nice! :-)

So who wants one?

Pigeons/Doves: "Hey are you thinking what I'm thinking?"

Caroling Through J-Land

Back in October, some clever J-Lander came up with the idea to "Trick or treat" through J-Land. I met so many wonderful new friends and found some great journals. So now I think the time has come to go Caroling through J-Land.

To participate:

1) Make an entry titled "Caroling Through J-Land" with these same instructions so others can play along.

2) Visit as many journals as you can and look for their entry titled "Caroling Through J-Land". Leave the title of your favorite carol, along with your name and link to your journal for other carolers.

3) Spread the word so we all can meet new friends and spread some Christmas cheer!

4) Caroling ends this Sunday night at midnight to give everyone plenty of time to make the rounds.

Happy Caroling and Merry Christmas!

My song....... Carol of the Bells!!!

Dear Santa

One of my favorite artist is
Nancy Noel. I love her angelsGrace, Mercy, Whisper and Angel of the Lake! I also would love 3 of her books: All God's Creatures, Believe, and On Earth As It Is In Heaven.

Can someone please tell Santa for me! Actually, I had them on my list I think the last 2 years & he didn't bring me even a small print?

My 2nd bathroom is filled with angels like these with real kids. I'll have to show you some later. I think if I had a baby's room that is how I would decorate it! Clouds with all these pictures of angels for a little real angel. Just a soft, peaceful, serene, tranquil, heaven....does it sound like I want to relax! Ha! Yep, I'm going to go say hello to my pillow!
YIPES!

Clarification Note: I didn't just decorate the bathroom for Christmas, this is my regular decorations.

The Bandit is Frosty!

If you can't read it...

"It's not worth it Roy, Lets just give him (rabbit with hair dryer pointed at them) our noses (carrots) & let him go."

Did you see the link on AOL's home page?

Burt Reynolds singing Frosty the Snowman (click) and a video of the Legend of Frosty the Snowman? (click) Frosty lifts his own head off his body...ICK! Listen, man is that odd. Not sure what Burt sounds like? Maybe just getting old. He will be 70 yrs old in 2006...man that is hard to believe. How did the Bandit get that old? Actually, I think I'd rather have Jerry Reid sing! HA!

Well, I still like the Classics! You can watch some clips of Christmas Show Classics (click)if you like. I got my 3 pack for Christmas last year (Frosty, Rudolph & Santa Claus is Coming To Town). I remember my little niece a few years ago kept exclaiming to everyone that "Santa Clause was coming TO TOWN" emphasizing those last two word so much it was hysterical. I'm so excited. She gets out of school Friday like me. My folks are flying in from AZ tomorrow morning! YA! I haven't seen them since beginning of Nov. The four of us are going to see the Rockettes next Tues evening & I'm sooooo excited. My niece wanted to see them & then my folks said they wanted to go. My niece is at the age now where if she sees something she doesn't forget! Ha! Before you could get away with not doing something if you couldn't, but now, nope...she sees it & she'll remind you plenty! I'll bring my camera & see if I can take some pictures. My niece loves dancing & singing & the whole stage & big costumes will just get her so excited. Got her an aisle seat as they come through the aisle dancing! I'm just excited to see her expression.

Well, that was my dinner break. Back to grading. Going to go to Meditation tonight though. I can really use it this week. Didn't get much sleep last night so I may head to bed early & get up early. We are suppose to get hit with snow again tomorrow afternoon/evening so I'll try to head in earlier so I can get out of there.

Beyond Holiday Stress!

Ok, people I know it is getting a bit stressful with shopping & decorating etc. but I think this goes beyond holiday stress! I received these pictures in my email today & just shock my head!

How do you explain this! There is just no reason for it! Not that far. I mean someone clips you before the booth not watching trying to cut in etc but this!? I'd like an explanation! They should have their driving priviledges taken away! No toy is worth this. Just CHILL! This is when I wave to drivers & smile & say, "Sure go right ahead...I don't mind!" Nothing irritates them more when you are not upset by them yelling & making gesture at you! Ha!

Just Click Here and have a bit of a de-stressor!

It's Always A Matter of Perspective

I couldn't resist! This card was just so good! I love how it just reminds us everything is a matter of perspective! I thought this would be a good reminder for everyone as people are stressing out with the holidays and OTHER THINGS! :-) I suppose it is like the other sayings...though I've had friends make those funny for me too....

When life gives you lemons...add some water, ice & vodka! Ha!

When you are at the end of your rope, tie a knot in it, wrap it around the person's head who is bugging you! Ha!

Actually, I think those came from Maxine! HA!

Any other favorites out there?

Superman is on Steroids & Seductive Dolls!

This is why people either love shopping with me or hate it! HA! I think that is true of me in general! HA! Like the line in "Something's Gotta Give" when Diane Keaton says "I'm not sure if you hate me or you're like the only person who has every got me?" and Nicholson says, "Well, I don't hate you"

I'm in Toys R Us finishing up a gift for my Angel Gift for a 3 yr old girl. They had the tags hanging in our mall. She wants anything Disney. The other day I found some Cinderella Markers & Crayons & a book & today I added a Princess coloring book, Cinderella Night light (they had it mismarked $1.99 when it was $7.99...don't you love those bargains!), Cinderella topped straw cup ($1.18! Summer Clearance!) and a Big Disney book with tons of stories to last her a good number of years of reading.

So as I'm looking around, of course taken in the kids having fun in the store & the parents desperately needing some Christmas Spirit & finding their child within, I spot Superman! Is it just me or does Superman look like he has been bulking up? Think he is "stuffing"  his uniform? Ha! Perhaps some Creatine or for shame...do we have to do a Steroids test on him? Sad day when Superman has to get tougher for our society! Yep...I was taking pictures in Toys R Us! HA! I tell you I'm nuts with this digital camera. You never know where I'm going to pull it out! HA! I just can't believe what they have done to Superman. That is not my Superman!

I liked it when Superman used his brain more than relying on bulk. You think he is having an inferiority complex with all the new Superheros? What are these young boys going to think? I won't speak for all women of course, but personally there is a point where it is too much. You are like hugging mass & not their spirit! And look at Superman...does he look cute & nice? Nope...he looks mean now. Like "Don't Mess With Me!" Ugh! I just can't get over this! I want Chris Reeve back as Superman!  You should have heard me in the store! I think I'm going to interview some kids there! HA! I want to know what they are getting from this!

Then I turn the aisle & find this! UGH!!!!! Lounge Kitty! Good God! Who is this marketed for??? A Barbie like doll in a cat suit lying seductively on a couch! Ya, I want my young niece having this doll! NOT! Who is creating these things? More importantly who is buying these for their kids! I'll have their heads! I mean ok, some fun guy gets it for me...that would be cute in my stocking, but I don't think he is going to look in Toys R Us for me! Reminds me of the movie "Love Actually". That scene where Emma Thompson asks Alan Rickman, "Now which doll shall we give Daisy's little friend Emily? The one that looks like a transvestite or the one that looks like a dominatrix?" UGH!!!

Now if they had Superman & this Lounge Kitty together...man!  Ha! What happened to Christmas and Childhood! Am I just getting old? I don't think so! I mean I'm pretty fun but these are kids!

Oh God...I'm listening to The Lite FM & they have this kid telling this joke....

"Mom...what did Mrs. Claus say to Santa while she looked out the window?"

"It looks like rain....dear!"

HA! I have no clue why, but I'm laughing hysterically. I love kids! I swear if kids were not around we would all go nuts! And this is why I'm so upset about the Superman & Lounge Kitty!
