Homeless Children WIN!!!!!

I'm so happy I just want to dance everywhere!!! Except I can't because of my foot right now (next posting!) but my heart & spirit is dancing! :-) I was out of state for the weekend for a wedding (next post) so I couldn't get this posted but last Fri I read the homeless children in Valparaiso who were denied library priviledges (read previous post!) were given them back! YA! The original article is linked in the first post & here is the most recent article explaining their "change of mind!"

I'm so happy they were not able to get away with this craziness! As I mentioned it just didn't make sense...but then when is that ever a requirement these days huh! HA!

This is such good news! I say some jumping for joy & cartwheels are in order even!

Popsicles for everyone! :-)

Ok, that is checked off the list of things to get changed in the world...NEXT! :-)

Homeless Children Just as Deserving!

I'm very angry!!!!

Read this short article about Valparaiso IN's public library no longer letting homeless children check out books. They said they lost $4,000 from books not being returned. Like they could not find some business to donate money. Heck, just getting some police & fireman out on a corners collecting one weekend I'm sure they could get that money back.

Think of all the books people have after their kids grow older that can be donated! I'm just livid can you tell. Apparently, homeless adults can get 3 month cards are at a time. We have people & children who are homeless, what is the chances they are going to school? And they go into a library to actually get a book....just visualize this. They have the desire & motivation...geez I wish children who were not homeless would go more often! They go one place to find some normacy, to escape in a book, to continue to grow & improve & they take this away!

I don't know how these people sleep at night. I know they can probably say they can come into the library & just read the books but to take it with them & just have something it to escape when need be & feel proud of. Did they replace this with say a donation box of free books they can take or anything? I'm calling them tomorrow. I wonder what the policies are in other libraries? I have to do something about this. The children are suffering already being homeless & that is just not right first & now we do this. Just guess what their reading abilities may be & we are certainly not helping the problem here.  I have to do something about this!!!! First, here is the library's website...email or write them!!! I'm going to call tomorrow and ask some questions! I'll keep you updated!

My Baby is Home & Into Trouble Already!

Well, my baby is home & getting into TROUBLE already! His middle name is TROUBLE but then heck it's mine too! HA! Did I mention I whacked my head on my freezer door yesterday! Ugh! Not quite as bad as the time I whacked it on the shower mounting in my dorm when everyone was already gone for break & I was waiting for the train the next morning! Ugh! I got ice on it right away...well the freezer was open so...but I still have quite a goose egg!

I called & they said the rest of his results came in. His Urinanalysis showed crystals & some blood. He has to take antibiotics for 2 weeks & then gets checked again. They gave him some fluids and antibiotics & he is already his perky self! He was complaining & hissing at the girls! HA! They told me today the Pancreatitis could just be from stress and not the fishy water with Stress Coat! HA! Maybe I should do some meditation with him! HA! You'd think the petting/massage he gets from me would relax him...and me! HA! I know Country (aka "Osma") stresses him. We'll see? (I just massaged him on my lap for 1 hr! I was falling asleep I was so relaxed! HA! Too bad Dusty can't give me a massage! HA! Dang, knew there was ONE reason I needed to have a guy in my life! HA!)

TROUBLE: PLAN A

Well, we got home & Dusty headed straight for his water bowl. Drank for about 5 min it seemed but apparently water from the tap is not as delightful to Dusty's palate as fresh fish water, so he decided to try the goldfish bowl on the coffee table. Unfortunately for him, I had a glass dome on it (like one you put over plants). It was so funny, you  could see he was frustrated...oh no...Stress! HA! Well, then again I do prefer my Penta Water so? And I was filtering the water until recently. My filter is busted & PUR sent me a replacement last year but I was in a cast & couldn't answer the door in time. I have emailed them twice asking them to resend but they haven't even responded. Ugh! So maybe Dusty just can't go back. Someone should make some fish flavored water...I bet that would sell like crazy...hmmm ok I better get that in the works fast! HA! I couldn't get my camera quick enough to get the evidence I needed with Plan A but I'm sure I'll catch him again later.

TROUBLE: PLAN B

When Dusty couldn't get to that one he headed to my desk. GOTCHA! After I captured all the proof I needed my parent voice spoke, "Excuse me Sir?!" He "knew" and let out this complaining squeak "You never let me have any fun!" HA! Probably a "Right lady like you never do anything bad!" also...HA! Next? My kitty is a MENSA member! HA! (IQ top 2% of the population!) You can see my desk needs John to come clean it! HA! In all fairness his was not that great just a bit ago though! It is a roller coaster...I get sick & cleaning doesn't get done & then it gets superclean again once I'm feeling better.

TROUBLE: PLAN C

Well, then the rascal  decided to head to the bedroom & attempted to tell the Betta on one of my end tables "I'M BACK!" Little did he knew I moved him to a taller dresser. Hee Hee! Well, he is such a smarty pants! When he didn't find it, he actually went to the other end table to look for it. I never had one there! HA! Such insight & problem solving abilities my baby has! Nebelungs are quite clever!

TROUBLE: PLAN D

Get rid of the Mistress of the house! HA! I went to run some errands, had some returns & wanted to check out a Furniture sale in the area. Not sure what he managed to do when I was gone...I now know why people get cameras to watch what their pets do when they are gone! HA! Actually, a few years ago I left a tape recorder running in the living room when I left to see if I could catch Country Terrorizing Dusty when I left. Didn't get anything! They are just too smart for me! HA! Furniture sale wasn't anything great but I did get a Aromatherapy/Light/Nature Sound machine. I just read some good & quite bad reviews of it but I'll see how it works for me. It plays a heart beat, white noise, birds, babbling brook, rain & a few others. The colors go through this crystal ball that looks like one of those glass paperweights. It has two different aromatherapy scents. I figured I can return it if it doesn't help. It was a dreary rainy day today.  Got tired since I didn't get much sleep since Dusty got sick so I left a few errands for tomorrow. Gotta try to get out of the house a bit each day.

TROUBLE: PLAN E

My plan was to distract Dusty! ;-) Since it was a bit cooler today I certainly didn't need the AC on, so I opened the windows! Dusty loves to check out who is outside. That got his interest away from the fish for quite some time! YA!

POST NOTE:

So far Sunday Dusty looks still ok but I have yet to witness him eating & can't get him to do it with me. I even shared some of my chicken but he didn't eat it & he loves chicken? Hmmm? We'll see tomorrow. Maybe his tummy is still bothering him? He is only 8lbs but he has always been about this weight. I dont know...just worried!

My Baby is Sick!

My baby is sick! (Sniff, Sniff) Dusty (official name is "Dakota") has rarely been sick so I totally know when he "isn't right". He wasn't eating & drinking from I'd say Tues evening I noticed. He was sick from "both ends" on Wed. Not horribly but then he was sitting in the middle of doorways & just odd places. I got him to drink some water & then he just crouched by the bowl & sat there. He was lethargic and not his perky self. He is 16 yrs old & he still jumps from the coach in this huge arch across half the room. He must not have any arthritis! He runs so fast you just see a flash of grey! We play hide & seek & he finds me & then runs! Ha!

Well, I was up just about all night Wed. I think I dosed for about an hour in the chair watching tv. At about 4am I called the University nearby  who has a teaching Vet hospital and Dusty has been to once for some bone marrow draws (he came up negative!) I had remembered he had been drinking out of the fish bowls. I of course made him get down, but I thought perhaps it was the Stress Coat I put in the water. When I looked it up on their website their own documentation said it was considered toxic by OSHA but then later said it wasn't. ARRGGHH! So the University looked it up & said it wasn't toxic but it could cause GI tract irritation etc. They said to definitely get him into my vet in the morning. My vet couldn't see him until later & I had class, so I took him to a local one that I know others use and I had his past labs from the University & my vet faxed over.

Now Dusty does not like going to the vet for about the past 5 or so years because my vet had given him a yearly vacinnation & hit a nerve which made him wail like I've never heard an animal do. He went after my vet, of course out of animal instinct reaction and I pushed him away & when he turned he ended up biting me. Well, if you know about cat bites vs dog bites they are horrific & cause major infection. I was on strong antibiotics for like 2 weeks. Had no knuckles etc. Every since then he of course is a very smart kitty & makes sure everyone knows that if you plan to even think about causing him pain you will have something to reckon with. Well, yestday he let us do anything & just lowly growled a bit. That proves he was not his usually self and sick.

They kept my baby overnight which made me sooooo sad! Nothing against Country but it is so quiet here & just not right! I just got off the phone with the vet & first the girl who answered the phone was not there yesterday & when she came in she got so scared seeing him. She has a 20 yr old just like him & his name is Dusty as well! HA! Hers is 20 yrs old (mine 16!) & has been in renal failure for the past 5 yrs & is just getting real bad now. She gives him fluid everyday. Lets hope my baby can last another 5 yrs or so! I'm all for stem cell research etc for pets! :-) Lets find that elixir of life so our pets can live as long as adults potential hugh! Oh well some turtles etc do! HA! Mine can live 120 yrs. I told my nieces I'm leaving Sam & Ella to them in my will! HA!

She told me that they have him on fluids & antibiotics "just in case" and he is already a bit better because he has quite a "firey attitude". HA! He must be feeling better because he couldn't mustard that yesterday. No one say anything about how our personalities match! HA! We are just very passionate spirits! :-) Don't mess with us or else, but that passion is also wonderful on the other side of the coin! ;-)

Lets see what else. One enzyme came up twice as high as Aug 2005 which indicates Pancreatitis. She says the vet thinks it is just that he got into something & it will pass. So it may be the Stress Coat. They are treating him for GI tract irritation...ha...both of us having problems! HA! They are waiting for more test results though, so hopefully they will be in tomorrow but that means he has to stay another night! I'm so sad but if it is best then that is all that matters. They close at 11am tomorrow so that means I can get him early! :-) I had asked if I could visit him but they said it would stress him more because he would think he was going home. I didn't think about that so I agreed it would not be good. It will just be odd not having my baby in bed with me tonight. :-( And not laying on my legs to get petting while I watch the ball game. It is so cool seeing those characteristics listed on his for his breed on the website. He  is just like this...though he really does like kids. He hates hats though! HA!

Well another day of praying and trying to keep myself busy to distract myself. Ugh my tummy is hurting. Geez! I'll update ya tomorrow!

Ann Coulter Is The Godless One!!!

There are times I wish you could kick out a member of my gender! Geez! What is this woman thinking? Yes, everyone has the right to their opinion...I do respect that but I don't have to agree. And wait...quite frankly she certainly does not speak for all woman but stiill she just is an embarassment!

Did you guys see this on AOL? Ann Coulter what is her problem? Go to
this link & click on The Today show & watch the clip. Her brain is just floating so high! It is much better to see the attitude then just read the written word! Ugh! She says,

" These self-obsessed women seem genuinely unaware that 9-11 was an attack on our nation and acted like as if the terrorist attack only happened to them. They believe the entire country was required to marinate in their exquisite personal agony. Apparently, denouncing bush was
art of the closure process."

Then she adds,

"These broads are millionaires, lionized on TV and in articles about them, reveling in their status as celebrities and stalked by griefparrazies. I have never seen people enjoying their husband’s death so much."

She says that & she is pushing her book! Watch the Today show clip & she keeps trying to get Matt to talk about the book & when it comes out etc. So she is using the widows to make money! Ugh! Man who is Godless here! Geez!

Here is the response from the widows! I can't believe she thinks the widows are just doing all this to make money? And you know how do you put a value on a life anyway. Who is she to say how much money they should make. Do you think they got enough for their kids missing their parent, income lost for their college education, missing walking a daughter down the aisle? Give me a break lady!

Look at this dialogue...

COULTER: To speak out using the fact they are widows. This is the left's doctrine of infallibility. If they have a point to make about the 9-11 commission, about how to fight the war on terrorism, how about sending in somebody we are allowed to respond to> No-No-No. We always have to respond to someone who just had a family member die..

Ok, so using her logic then Michael J. Fox can't speak about Parkinson? Chris Reeve couldn't speak about spinal cord research? What is that? People who have been affected should be able to speak. They lost the most & they are here to remind us & not let us forget & get lax. They warn us that this really can happen to us in the future as well.

LAUER: But aren't they in the middle of the story?...

COULTER: ...Because then if we respond, oh you are questioning their authenticity. No, the story is...

LAUER: So grieve but grieve quietly?

LAUER: What I’m saying is I don’t think they have ever told you, you can't respond.

COULTER: Look, you are getting testy with me.

NO! You are calling illogical & she doesn't like it! HA! She was not being TESTY? Give me a break! The woman defines TESTY!

What a cold woman & she just keeps making herself look so idiotic! Why are so many people
giving her such press? And she even asks for Katie...what is that about. Probably hates Matt & thinks Katie won't ask the tough questions that will make her look like an idiot! Which is why I question whether Katie will be good in her new role but time will tell.

Yep, people like this do irritate me! Why do they even get to sell a book? The best way to respond to her is to not buy her book! If you want to see what she says then heck read it in a book store but don't buy it! Let money talk besides people's comments.

Ok, I've spent enough time on this but I just want others to be aware & to respond in action also!

Even Build-A-Bear Goes Superman!

Hey look what came in my email today! :-) Isn't it adorable! Enlarge the pix for details...it is next week I think.

I'm so tempted to get one! :-) I'll let you know if I do.

Belated B-day to Superman

Well, I didn't get this out yesterday. Not feeling well, but apparently we need to sing HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Superman! AOL says it was his birthday yesterday! I didn't know that! Now I'll be first in line to give some birthday spankings! ;-) Look at the song I'm listening to. Different version but do you remember that from the Chris Reeve movie? That is really wierd this song would come on while I'm doing this entry.

Don't  you think every guy should have his own Superman Costume?! ;-) Come on ladies wouldn't you just love your man to come running in the door & pull on his shirt like this...hee hee...I'm getting excited...hang on, I need to have a little fantasy moment here! Hmmm... who should I pick...maybe George Clooney! ;-)Wait wasn't he Batman? Well, I can just go back & forth with my little fantasy! HA! Maybe someone from the past? hmmmm!

I miss Chris Reeve! Anyone else! Anyone seen the new Superman yet? Is it out yet? Hmmm? Maybe I'll go see it soon.

You know one of the best ways to say Happy Birthday to Superman is to honor Chris with a lovely donation to his foundation! Lovely tags! :-)
