Saturday Six

Ok Patrick, I think I might be able to do this...really exhausted from the funeral services this weekend but this might be a nice distraction.

1. Of the following, which one best describes you at your worst?  (You can't select "None of the above!")
    a. One who doesn't finish what he/she starts
    b. One who talks the talk but doesn't walk the walk
    c. One who always finds the worst in a situation
    d. One who generally knows what's right but does what's wrong

* I would probably say #1 due to personal things! Work seems to get in my way much of the time! A perfect example is this lovely Italian Language program I have sitting on the shelf here. I purchased when??? Hmmm last spring sometime I think. Is it even open? NOPE! Then I promised myself this summer...ugh! Ok, guys you can dog me next weekend if I have not opened it & tried it! Somebody who makes enough money needs to get me to marry them so I can stay home & just be Martha Stewart & do all these things for a year or two! Right! Ok, I'll work a bit!

D.  is like nails on the blackboard to me! God, I hope I never do it! C. maybe a bit lately more with my foot etc but generally speaking when all things are great NOPE! I know what "is" or reality & then I try to think of those whose's lives are more difficult than mine and why I am lucky. That is why I like reading biographies - to see how people's lives are so much more difficult (I won't say worse!) and yet they learn & grow from them.  B. kinda goes with D. to me. I hope I don't but there are times when I should mediate 5 minutes sooner or relax more sooo...but nothing major like harming others etc. No hidden evil person :-)

2. Not counting shows like Saturday morning cartoons designed specifically for kids, what single show that you grew up watching religiously is now the one you most hate to sit through?

Hmmm, this is difficult. I don't think we watched a great deal. We were very busy playing outside until after dark! Yes, we actually could safely when I was a kid! So sad for kids today! Now if you ask me how much time I spent at the mall as a teen WELLL then.... :-) Religiously huh...and that I hate? Ugh! Magnum I watched as a teen religously but I'd still watch that today! Ha! YUM! Thursday nights...right! Ha! Maybe The Partridge Family or The Brady Bunch. It would be difficult to watch now except maybe for nostalgia or humor. I'll have to ask my siblings!

Maybe I was doing homework all the time? I had to really work at it as a kid. Oh & then there was activities like Girl Scouts, softball, roller skating, cheerleading (yep I was one in grammar schoo!), my brother's football games friday nights (they played from 'Super Pee Wees' through high school), dinner parties and then there was always mom's tator tot fight she started one night when dad was at a meeting! Ha! I swear she started it! She through the first one from the stove across the table at one of us. There is an arch over the stove to the other part of the kitchen where the table was. Mom didn't need us to get into trouble ha! I think we should all blame her...social learning! Lets see, she left the top of the blender off...lovely pee soup all over the ceiling! Started a fire, but then put it out! Ha! It was pretty significant damage though, no this wasn't the tator tot night much earlier! Acutally, I think it was us kids who were fighting which she came investigating that resulted in the fire. We were constantly looking for my dog who would run away! I had gerbils & a rabbit & fish. My one uncle Ken would always be stopping by. He is a hoot. You can have a formal dinner party & he'd let himself him, come down the hallway say hi, use the bathroom & say bye! Guest would laugh & say,"Who the heck was that?" and my folks would be like, "Oh that just Ken!" Ha! He still does it,except now when I'm there he stays & dogs me about when I'm getting married etc. He once stole someone else's dog thinking it was ours who ran away! Ha! Our house was a blast! We had a pool, swing set, sandbox my dad made, garden, bikes, so much of the time mom was begging us to come in when it was dark.  See who needed TV! HA!

Wait, here is a picture of my uncle when he & my aunt were in Hawaii with my folks...this will give you an idea how much he is a hoot! Ahhh that is him in the Sugar Cane...can you tell what he is doing! Ha! Then goofing with my dad! Lastly, playing at Christmas!

3. Have you ever been so angry with a company that you swore you'd never do business with them again?  If so, did you keep that promise?

Oh give me a break! Definitely! Ha! Well, I left MSU for ethical reasons so! Only had 1 year for PhD but wasn't about to get it from there! Nope, not going to go into details but those who know me know! The first 4 doctors who treated me for my foot will probably find out in the future how upset I am. I wouldn't have lost 92% of my muscle if they did their job right!

4. Take this quiz:  Are you psychic?

60% Psychic

You are pretty psychic.
While you aren't Miss Cleo, you've got a little ESP going on.
And although you're sometimes off on your predictions...
You're more often right than wrong
So go with your instincts - you know more than you think

Actually, I go through with my students how Deja Vu experiences (It is all in the memory neurons! ) happen and the research on ESP. I've had a friend call me up twice & just say "What's wrong?" before I even say Hello! And how do they know I'm answering with a house full of people? Very creepy. Mom & I have both had dreams of someone in particular dying & for her like 5 hours later it happened & me I think it was 24 hrs.  I NEVER want that to happen again!

5. READER'S CHOICE QUESTION #68 from Lily: What's the longest you've talked on the phone in a single phone call, and who were you talking to?

Oh man...I don't know! I didn't have my dad with me like when I grew up saying, "You're still on the phone" (emphasize with "the tone!") or "You just spent the whole day with them, what could you possibly have to talk about?" Ha! Men, they just don't get it sometimes! But they do give us more to talk about! HA!

Well, some of those late night college conversations got into the Marathon hours, though quite frankly much longer when we were together, especially when happy hour started early! Ha! The security guard at my mall can vouch for a 3 hour conversation in the parking lot after the mall has closed with my friend! Ha! I think Barnes & Noble personnel can confirm another night! My friend's husband knows better & doesn't even call the cops or hospital on her when we are out together! :-) Phone...hmm there was the time at MSU when my friend & I had talked for like 2 hours & then we both said, "Gotta go...ER is on!" Within 5 min into the show the electricity went out & my phone rang & I heard "Is it one by you, & I said NO!" No hellos or who is it! Ha! Then it came back on &  we stayed on phone & watched it while we were on the phone! Ha!

There are a few gentleman who might be able to confirm some mighty long phone conversations. ;-) That is why I don't get it when they complain, because let me tell you, once you get them talking they don't stop either! :-) Which actually I love. I wish guys would talk more! Well not with other guys...that macho guy talk, just their true spirit who they don't let out all the time. Hmmm in fact last night I had to call for a garage door guy. Well, I was too short to push it up & Dr. Z. would kill me if I got on a chair with my foot in this brace. It is majorly busted & has be be replaced. See I was a good girl. WELLLLL, we started talking outside & I think heleft like 2 hours later! HA! We were about the same age & started to talk about kids today etc. He was nice & sweet!

See this is why I didn't have anything above for watching tv! I was on the phone all the time or talking to someone in person! Ha!

6. READER'S CHOICE QUESTION #69 from Betty:   (She recently returned from a trip to Las Vegas!)  How do you feel about gambling?

Depends on what you are gambling on & what the odds are! Seriously! You can be gambling on love right! I would do that unless the odds were sooooo slim then maybe not. I won't gamble with my life if the odds are very high. I won't bungee jump or do most on Fear Factor! Ha! Though, I suppose every moment you do really gamble on it. Ugh I wasn't going to think about that. Am I gambling other people's money? Then I would! Ha! I play the Mega Millions sometimes but that is not a big loss! I think it depends on your money situation for Vegas. If I had all the money  like Oprah or Donald I'd have some fun but I'm not going to gamble it all away when I can use it for other things! I'd rather get some more pets! Ha! Or take a trip etc. Or maybe adopt some kids with the money.
