Repost: This Man Gets It!

I'm so pissed! My whole entry is gone from the other day! What is going on with AOL? They are also screwing up being able to see other websites! I have no idea if this will be exactly what I wrote the other day but...

I was watching Oprah & Jerry was on talking about his new movie "The Bee Movie" which does look very good! He is in Oprah's Nov issue of O & she asked him to tell everyone how he feels about his wife...check this out...

"I love my wife Jessica. I just always want to be with her. Even if she's talking to someone on the phone, I want to be there. I enjoy her aroundness."

Jerry says that marriage is work, but he doesn't mind. "You've got to clean up the messes, you know," he says. "People are lazy and I'm tired of it. Everything's work. There's nothing wrong with work."

It's her husband's work ethic that Jessica says she most admires. "He's just the best," she says. "He's such a great role model. He's a great role model for our children, and he's a great role model in the world because he gives 150 percent to our marriage, to our children, to this movie, to his stand-up every weekend, to all of his friends."

Are you crying? I am...this is after 7 yrs of marriage he still feels this way. I saw a couple in the parking lot the other night probably in their 60s still holding hands! That is what it is about!

I went to my secretary's wedding on Sat & this couple that was standing in line behind me started to talk to me. They were probably early 60s also. The gentleman was AWESOME! I'd marry him! HA! He was all giddy that they were getting married in 4 weeks. In fact, he was more than she was. I've always been fascinated how people meet & propose etc. He said he went to a retirement home for a big band dance & she was there with a girlfriend just by luck. She told him she would never get married again & then after discussing it for a few months one day she calls & leaves a message on his cell phone "Ok, I'll marry you" HA! What a hoot! Well they danced all night & so did all the other older people. Big line dancing family & old time dancing...I say that as oppose to the era I grew up in. I would love to learn how to dance like they do. Nope I didn't dance...I was afraid of screwing up my back & GUESS WHAT since last weekend my toe is hardly tingling...that Masochistic Physical Therapist must be helping! Ugh!

Well I'm afraid to add too much more & loss it again.

This Man Gets It!

Did you catch
Jerry Seinfield on Oprah? I watched it tonight. It was on his new movie "The Bee Movie." It looks cute.

Oprah also discussed some points from their interview for the Nov issue (just got it this weekend!). I just melted when he discussed his wife Jessica...

I saw this older couple in the parking lot tonight & they were holding hands! :-) OHHHH & I was at my secretary's wedding Sat & this older couple, I'd say early 60s were standing behind me & the gentleman was all kiddy about the fact that they were getting married themselves in 4 weeks. I've always been fascinated how people have met, how they propose etc. The couple said that she told him she was not getting married again but then they were discussing it for a few months & one day he said, he had a voicemail messages that said, "Ok, I'll marry you" HA! All the older couples were dancing. I sooooo love dancing! In fact,in Hope Floats Harry Connick Jr.'s character Justin says, "Dancings just a conversation between two people...talk to me!" I totally agree! Unfortunately, I grew up in that horrible Disco era & have no clue how to dance like my parent's generation did. I should take some classes when my back is better. My back is getting better I think, since my toe is not tingling so much & I can curl it under pretty normally! Cross your fingers! It was a very fun wedding. Everyone was dancing & the bride had an awesome comboy wedding dress with fringe & a white cowboy hat with a veil in the back an white boots! The 2 flower girls were dress like her with silver sequin trim on the hat & they had a hat they were also carrying with rose petals to throw. Very cute! The one girl went down the eye rolling her eyes saying "This is boring!" Ha! Don't you love kids!

Well off to dreamland! Later...

Drama Queens!!!

Good God! What a bunch of Drama Queens! Are women really like this? No wonder men are so frustrated with women! GEEZ!

Ok, yes there are men that are totally nuts too but I can't believe this! I think they should have older people on this show. The young ones have no clue! To say that a person who is divorced is like a used car...give me a break! You have no idea why the divorce happened & those girls have no idea what entails a marriage...and they will be divorced soon if they continue to act like this in a marriage! This guy is sunk no matter what as far as I'm concerned. I don't see a one that is genuine & worth a lifetime. I'm not saying I'm perfect or expect them to be but they are just pathetic! I think they should have some type of counselor on there guiding the guy & the girls on what makes for a good marriage, how to handle problems, ask the questions they should ETC!!!! How can you fall in love with a guy (or woman) you barely know! And the reality is dirty underwear left on the floor, cold cream & ponytails! HA! You have to be able to love them then! (PS...that dirty underwear on the floor was meant for the guy! Ha!) When they snore, fart (remember Robin Williams in Good Will Hunting! Ha!) etc. And where are these girls dreams? Where is there independent life they want to live? (I meant your own thing...you live & support each other in your dreams...you can't be absorbed by the other!)

And they act like he is the only man on this planet for each & every one of them! Ugh! I don't want him with any of them at this point. Have they talked about politics? How about kids? I know we only see the edited version of the show & most likely out of context but geez show the example others should use. I'd love to follow these couples & see how many end up in divorce.

This poor guy...well partial...he is the one that thought this would be a good idea...what does that say? Hmmm?

Next week...wow...wonder why she is leaving? And falling down the stairs...hmmm well does the clutz factor get to guys?

I don't know this just seems too fake for me! Is anyone believing any of this?

Mr. Bachelor

Ok, ladies what do you think? I'm still watching but BIG RED FLAG right away...

"I want to be the PERFECT HUSBAND."

OMG!!! Ok, I've never been married but even I know there is no such thing! Why would he want to be that? I mean that is an incredible amount of pressure and if he picks a woman who really wants that...it will be a problem in the first five minutes. I would not want a guy like that. He wouldn't feel free to be silly & make mistakes. Life is full of problems & you won't always make the perfect decisions even perfect for the time. He'd be walking on eggshells all the time trying so hard to be perfect & not make mistakes. I would not want some guy thinking I will be the PERFECT WIFE! Ugh!

Ok, so maybe he is meaning "the perfect one" for someone...but again, it isn't like you will agree on every single...blech! If you did life would be boring. I mean conversations would be "Do you like this..yep....You want to do this...yep..." UGH! Now I just went over the Love Chapter with my Social Psych students & similarity is really what most desire but up to a point. Differences make it fun too. They make you each think & grow into an even better person.

Alright enough of that...lets get to the real stuff...these women...what do you think about them? GEEZ! You wonder were they picked some of them & if they did that just to make the show more interesting. Is that fair to the bachelor to do that when he could have had a few more nicer women to pick from. I mean it shouldn't be that hard to find some more.

First, the drunk thing...what the heck?

Second, did you see all the expressions when he was choosing? Man if you are going to be like that & such a sore loser you shouldn't be picked!

Third, what is with the crocodile tears...geez you just met the guy for a few hours & he is your soulmate? Good God! There is a divorce waiting to happen! You don't know anything about him other than ya he is definitely a poster hunk & has quite a bit of money...what guy would want a women just picking him on that? Man!

Fourth, ok fake body parts...I'd think eventually he is going to find out!

Fifth...now what do you think on the bikini woman? I mean true that is a way to stand out but is that good or not...I think it could have been ok except when she wanted him to take his pants off...bit too early & in front of others? Hmmm? Creative but...we'll have to see with her later. I thought he was going to give her the rose at first. I do like the one, so far, he gave the first impression rose to.

Ok, so lets see how things go...let me know what you think...it does look like it will be interesting. I haven't really followed any of these in the future but I might with this one. Might even have my social psych students watch & compare to the research in the class. Like I don't think ??? there were any women older than him? What about education level...he didn't go to college etc. I'll have to have my students do a bit of research on this.

Where is this Guy???

My bro sent me this today & I love it! I hate to admit it but I'd be right there with him doing this fun! HA! Ok, a few are near the edge but...now you have to remember my dad is the one who was in Sam's Club one day & watched a boy get yelled at by his mom for touching the singing Frosty the Snowmen and so he went & pressed every single one the them. He made the boy smile & God knows what the mother though! YAAAA Dad! :-) You gotta have fun in life, if you can't be silly & have fun you will be very sad.

DON'T TAKE ME IF I DON'T WANT TO GO...........

This is why women should not take men shopping against their will.

After Mr. and Mrs. Fenton retired, Mrs. Fenton insisted her husband accompany her on her trips to Wal-Mart. Unfortunately, Mr. Fenton was
like most men-- he found shopping boring and preferred to get in and get out. Equally unfortunately, Mrs. Fenton was like most women-- she loved to browse

One day Mrs. Fenton received the following letter from her local Wal-Mart.

Dear Mrs. Fenton,

Over the past six months, your husband has been causing quite a commotion in our store. We cannot tolerate this behavior and may be
forced to ban both of you from the store. Our complaints against Mr. Fenton are listed below and are documented by our video surveillance
cameras.

1. June 15: Took 24 boxes of condoms and randomly put them in people's carts when they weren't looking.

2 . July 2: Set all the alarm clocks in House Wares to go off at 5-minute intervals.

3. July 7: Made a trail of tomato juice on the floor leading to the women's rest-room.

4. July 19: Walked up to an employee and told her in an official voice, Code 3 in House Wares. Get on it right away."

5. August 4: Went to the Service Desk and tried to put a bag of M&M's on layaway.

6. September 14: Moved a "CAUTION - WET FLOOR" sign to a carpeted area.

7. September 15: Set up a tent in the camping department and told other shoppers he'd invite them in if they would bring pillows and blankets from the bedding department.

8. September 23: When a clerk asked if they could help him he began crying and screamed, "Why can't you people just leave me alone?"

9. October 4: Looked right into the security camera and used it as a mirror while he picked his nose.

10. November 10: While handling guns in the hunting department, he asked the clerk where the antidepressants were.

11. December 3: Darted around the store suspiciously while loudly humming the " Mission Impossible" theme.

12. December 6: In the auto department, he practiced his "Madonna look" by using different sizes of funnels.

13. December 18: Hid in a clothing rack and when people browsed through, yelled "PICK ME! PICK ME!"

14. December 21: When an announcement came over the loud speaker, he assumed a fetal position and screamed "OH NO! IT'S THOSE VOICES AGAIN!"

And last, but not least .

15. December 23: Went into a fitting room, shut the door, waited awhile, then yelled very loudly, "Hey! There's no toilet paper in here!"

Regards,
Wal-Mart

What a Week...

Hi Everyone!

Well I've certainly had a week! Well the friday before Labor Day I had a student have a major seizure in my class. First time I've every had an emergency in 17 yrs of teaching. It wasn't until I was on the train & about half way downtown when I started to relax. The weekend was nice, I got to see my little niece on Monday at a fair we go to every year. I bought her a tie dye dress for her American Girl Doll with a mathching shirt & head scarf for her.  Her Uncle & I should her many of the artist's work and explained to her how they make it.
Unfortunately, I didn't have my sun glasses with me & I always get migraines from squinting...sure enough major one! I was bargaining with God in the wee hours of the night. To make matters worse, earlier in the week I went to order my migraine pills & Walgreens said they were on long term back order. Ugh! No other manufacturer makes these type of migraine meds which makes no sense to me. There are other types that work differently but obviously these are the types I need if they work. I've used them for so long now. Now I don't have migraine that often mind you. This past prescription I filled in Dec for 25 pills & you take up to 5 in a day so...I called around & they had some at a location near the fair. I go there, with the migraine remember, and they closed early for the holiday, nope not a 24 hr one. UGH! I had one left so I took that one but you are suppose to take 2 right away so...About 4:30am I started to feel better. I took a Vicodin and it did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! These usually just knock me out but it didn't even make me yawn! I had only taken 1 so far for my back since April so I had a lot left.

Tues my head still bothered me & I thought with lack of sleep & running around for work & going downtown for the back treatments it would just get worse, so I called in sick & had someone show the video I was going to show & then canceled my back treatment and relaxed all day. Wed I was fine but felt so odd. Bad enough a Monday off throws you off a bit, I had 2 days. Thurs evening when I returned from my back treatment my right knee started to hurt so much when I completely straigtened it. Felt like it was going to come out the other way! I think it is from the ramps & stairs with the train stations. When I mentioned it Fri to them they told me to always keep my knees bent. I'm trying & it isn't bothering me as much but did a bit today still.

Yesterday I went to the office for about 4 hours to catch up a bit & clean up from the summer...old student work etc. Then I met the boyfriend for dinner and did a bit of shopping. He helped with the heavy stuff! ;-)

Today I worked inside and on the computer & later in the evening did a few errands...including getting the light I have pictured above, except in black, from Menards. It is really cool. It is more natural. Too bad it won't give me a safe tan though too! HA! I got Clinton's new book on Giving for myself and as a birthday gift for a 17 yr old. I figured it is her future that can be changed. She loved it. She was planning on getting it. I also picked up a few copies of Jonathon Livingston Seagull. She had never read it & so I was glad I got it for her. I love that book. I am having my Social Psych students read it. I usually read them The Sneetches & The Paper Bag Princess also.

EEEEEEKKKKK! Country just found a HUGE black Cricket! How the heck did it get in here! I grabbed two bowls & captured it & let it outside. I can just imagine this thing jumping on me in the middle of the night! ARRRRRGGGHHH! That God I have my babies to hunt icky things for me! :-)

Well, I did 3 days of treatment on my back last week so that brings it to 5 total. They said between 8-12 I should start to feel better. I'm really looking forward to it. My foot is still tingling & I'm still having problems with my upper back a bit, probably getting strained from my lower not doing its job.  I am getting pretty far in my autobiography of Ann-Margret while traveling on the train. It is a fascinating book. I had to order it from Used Vendors but it came in awesome shape & I got the audio of it read by hear. It is amazing that this vivacious woman is quite shy...somehow I identify with that a bit. I just finished reading the part about her relationship with Elvis...quite fascinating. I can't find a picture of the back cover so I'll have to make a copy first. It is even better. I'm almost 1/2 way down so I'll say in a few more days I'd be done. Well...have to get some beauty sleep...I can use all the help I can get! HA!
